I had a bit of a late start to the day but it ended up being quite productive nonetheless. I started out making a 3-minute English muffin to go with my omelette and then moved on to a couple of DIY projects: covered metal hangers, a plushie dog (made while listening to the audiobook for The Bollywood Affair), and some homemade fly paper. Dinner was a salad with sunflower sprouts grown by a local boys home and the best watermelon I've had all summer.
"My mother would never let the hearth die in her home," Margret said. She felt Agnes turn to look at her, but didn't meet her gaze. "She believed that as long as a light burned in the house, the Devil couldn't get in. Not even during the witching hour." Agnes was quiet. "What do you believe?" she asked eventually.
