It's been rather hot here for what feels like forever.  I've recently caught up on Criminal Minds  (and started a shrug) so I was in need of something else to do.  I ended up making this little guy for a friend.  He's an incredibly quick knit.  The Rav pattern is here .

Name: Fort Popham Location : Phippsburg, Maine Date Visited: 21 May Random Facts : The fort is located at the mouth of the Kennebec River.  Construction of the current fort began in 1861, during the Civil War.  It, however, was never finished.  Modifications were made during both the Spanish-American and First World War.  The completing of Fort Baldwin eventually rendered Fort Popham obsolete.  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. Notes: It was damp and chilly the morning we were here but it was beautiful and foggy.  It’s a place that’s definitely more interesting to someone with an interest in history.  Even if history's not a favorite of yours, the view, sans the fog, is worth the drive out.   old tags: sightseeing, there's more than trees in maine

Sometimes I think I should rename this blog and turn it into a cat appreciation page but then I come across old project photos or pick up a pair of needles and remember why it is I love documenting my work; there's something magical about turning yarn into something so useful and beautiful. A simple single crochet stripped scarf: My first go at a Hermione Hat. The yarn was a horrible choice for this project. I ended up frogging it and turning the yarn into a pair of arm warmers. Name : Reid State Park Location : Georgetown, Maine Date Visited : 21 May Random Facts : The park houses the first state-owned salt water beaches.  The wide beaches and accompanying dunes,  a rarity in the state, provide nesting areas for endangered least terns and piping plovers and habitat for other shorebirds. old tags: people and places that make me happy, sightseeing, there's more than trees in maine,
