Tuesday we did a bunch of shopping downtown, wandering up Robson and down Granville for the day.  Yesterday was all about the pretty things of another sort.

Yesterday was an odd day.  The early morning was filled with jetlag troubled sleep stolen between the sentences of an audiobook.  Then the slow journey to find breakfast began with fumbling fingers and a lazy search for directions. Things picked up as we started our journey down a nearby street.  Hopping on and off the bus we managed to pick up everything we needed, the highlights included something to sit on for our picnic, a copy of Outlander to read before the show starts, and lots and lots of glorious food. I wish I had taken photos of the market .  Produce lined the sidewalk out front and inside was packed with everything a food lover could want.  Usually stores contain aisles of processed food with a small natural, health food section; here it was the opposite.  Needless to say our mini fridge is packed with produce and all the fixings for real meals. Vancouver 2014: Day 1

Travel days are strange days that occur in some sort of suspended annimation.  They happen much too slowly and all at once.  They're an odd mix of frantic energy and doing nothing for stretches so long your brain goes numb. Yesterday was a lot like that.  This morning feels a lot like that. I'm stuck with a sort of travel hangover: jet lag and too much dry airplane air.  Soon though I'll crawl out of bed and venture out in search of food.  I don't know what else the day will hold but I have a feeling it'll involve a mustard yellow chair and a good book.

Sweater Mania 2014

Knitting! Yes, finally. Between the wardrobe planning and editing I've been doing I finally have a to be knit list again.  Granted my ravelry queue hasn't been updated but this is a start. Pattern : I'm 90% positive I'm going with  Boxy although Relax ( e.g. ) is also very similar Inspiration :Unknown Forever21 sweater featured here . Particularly I love the fabric and drape of that sweater and while I do like this Topshop sweater , I prefer the neckline and the airier feel of the first one.   Potential Yarn (and yardage) : Fingering weight (14 wpi) || 23 st and 20 rows = 4" on size 4s after blocking (1,680 yds) Required Notions : 1 or 2, and 3 size needles (2.5, 4 recommended), stitch holders, tapestry needle, an extra needle for 3-needle-bind off Sizing Notes : 64" body and ~9.5" sleeve circumference desired.  Use smaller body.  Check project notes for tips on picking up different sized (i.e. larger sleeves).
